Cincinnati Winton Woods defeated Bishop Watterson 19-13 in overtime at Hawley Field. Watterson was ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press Division III poll, while Winton Woods was ranked No. 8 in Division II.
Winton Woods (3-1) was led by senior running back Jeremiah Goins, who rushed for 161 yards on 21 carries and a 2-yard touchdown in overtime. Senior quarterback Dominique Brown, a University of Cincinnati commit, rushed 26 times for 120 yards and a touchdown.
In the end, Winton Woods' throwback ground game was chiefly responsible for its 19-13 overtime road besting of the Eagles (3-1).
"It was kind of tough," Warriors quarterback Dominique Brown said after the battle royal. "I got the guys up front rolling; we got on the same page.
"We came out kind of flat, then we put up some numbers in the second half and in overtime."
That, Winton Woods (3-1) did. Brown, a 6-foot-2, 203-pound senior who has committed to the University of Cincinnati, was at the crux of the Eagles' heartache. His 135 yards rushing on 25 attempts were both game highs, but more than anything, he controlled the tempo of the contest.
"He's a big-time player," Watterson coach Dan Bjelac said. "He's a lot bigger and stronger than he was last year, and he was a really good player last year.

They scratched their way to the 1-yard line, where they faced fourth and goal. Tre' Boston, who returned to action this week after not playing last week, carried and just got into the end zone. It took the referees some time to actually signal that he had broken the plane of the goal line.

Josh Russ, Elyria Catholic: Senior wide receiver/defensive end and Cincinnati recruit caught three passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns in a 19-13 victory over Shaker Heights, including a school record 94-yard TD reception. On defense, had a tackle, one assist, one pass breakup and one blocked field goal.
